ABOUT THE LAKE
Where the Santa Ynez Valley
Meets The Water
Cachuma Lake sits nestled in the Santa Ynez Valley, approximately 12 miles east of Solvang and 22 miles northwest of Santa Barbara. A non-body-contact reservoir, the lake offers exceptional fishing, boating, and nature experiences in one of California’s most scenic settings.
Lake Cachuma is one of southern California’s premier fishing lakes. The lake-bottom has rocky drop-offs, shallow areas, and aquatic plant bed throughout the lake which creates great habitats for many fish. The wide-range of fish included are Rainbow Trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill, red-ear sunfish and channel catfish. Lake Cachuma’s fishing derbies continue to grow in popularity due to the wide range of fish here at the lake.
